A brand built on heritage and craft, the Samual Gawith pipe tobacco range has something for all palates and is treasured for the exceptional quality and flavours.
The history of Samuel Gawith and Gawith Hoggarth & Co are entwined, both being linked to Thomas Harrison, the grandfather of Samuel Gawith the first. Thomas Harrison grew up in Kendal, and after learning how to manufacture tobacco, went on to open a factory in the same Cumbrian town.
The Gawith family have been manufacturing tobacco since the 18th century, with original recipes and traditional methods of production being passed down through each generation.
Samuel Gawith tobacco remains a favourite amongst pipe smokers. It is made with high-quality leaves, age-old techniques and on occasion, using original machinery.
The Samuel Gawith Black Forest pipe tobacco blends the Rich Dark Cavendish with bright Virginia for a smooth, mild to medium blend. The Samuel Gawith Bothy Flake (Whisky) is rich, flavourful and infused with a touch of whiskey, a great choice for those who appreciate traditional pipe tobacco.
The range from Samuel Gawith is available in a variety of cuts, with each offering a different experience of burn and flavour. Flake provides a slow burn, ensuring a long smoke, an example being St. James’. Perfection mixture is ribbon cut, perfect for an even and consistent burn. Cabbie’s mixture is curly cut, twisted in the traditional way, cured and then sliced.
