The History of Rattray’s Pipe Tobacco

Charles Rattray was the original blender of Rattray’s pipe tobacco in Scotland. He founded the company in the early 20th century, having previously spent years in training and later perfecting the highly rated blends we know and love today.

A well-known figure in the pipe-smoking world, both Rattray’s tobacco and the pipes produced by the company have been celebrated over the years for their quality and craftsmanship.

Rattray’s pipe tobacco is now produced by Kohlhase & Kopp in Germany, with the original recipes being crafted with the same dedication and attention to detail as Charles Rattray himself.
